Welcome to Maximilian Bigelmayr`s private website. What began in 2005 as a student website has grown over the years into a collection of diverse personal research projects. Starting from a strong interest in the natural sciences, these projects have gradually become more specialized and discipline-focused.
I studied physics and electrical engineering and have since followed a varied professional path. After completing my bachelor’s degree in physics with a specialization in molecular spectroscopy at LMU Munich, I spent several years working in the pharmaceutical industry. There, I developed novel temperature measurement methods for freeze-drying systems based on RF-Quartz Sensor Technology. Throughout this time, I remained deeply engaged with high-voltage engineering and, as a self-employed physicist, designed high-voltage pulsed power systems for various clients.
My interest in the practical application of systems of differential equations (ODEs) led to a range of projects involving mechanical systems and their numerical simulation.
During my subsequent master’s studies in Computational Engineering and Electrical Power Engineering at the University of Rostock, I focused intensively on CAD design of large assemblies and FEM simulations of electromagnetic systems.
Following my master’s thesis on Pulsed Wire Discharges, I returned to the pharmaceutical industry, where my work increasingly shifted toward plant and process engineering.
After transitioning to the fuel cell industry in 2022, I further expanded my expertise in CAD design and, as a development engineer, worked on fuel cell prototypes for bus and truck applications as well as maritime systems with power outputs of up to 500 kW.
Alongside all of these professional activities, this website continues to exist for the same reason it always has:
While my skills have continued to expand, my enthusiasm has remained unchanged.
I simply enjoy working on it.
With that in mind, I hope you enjoy reading as well!
